A doctor who chose to create space for others to find their way.

Dr. Penny Neild. Former NHS consultant, now an executive coach and mediator.

About Me

Working as a consultant gastroenterologist in the NHS, I was privileged to work alongside students, trainees, colleagues and leadership teams during some of the most demanding and rewarding moments of their professional lives.

Throughout my career in healthcare, I’ve experienced first-hand both the rewards and the pressures of working in complex organisations. Those experiences continue to shape the way I work today.

Over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to supporting people through transition — helping trainees become consultants, leading teams through change, and creating space for conversations that might otherwise never happen.

This naturally led me into the rewarding world of executive coaching, workplace mediation and team coaching.

Although my roles have evolved, what motivates me has remained remarkably constant:

Helping people think more clearly, understand one another more deeply and move forward with confidence.

Professional background

  • Consultant Gastroenterologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer, 2001–2026

For nearly 40 years I worked in the NHS and allied national organisations as a doctor, educator and clinical leader, supporting patients, colleagues and leadership teams through challenge, change and transition.

Alongside medicine I trained in executive and flow coaching, workplace mediation and systemic team coaching, bringing these together in the work I do today.

Professional training

  • Professional Certificate in Systemic and Team Coaching – Henley Business School (2026)

  • Workplace Mediation Accreditation (2022)

  • MSc Strategic Clinical Leadership (2021)

  • Diploma in Flow Coaching (2019)

  • ILM Level 7 Executive Coaching (2014)

  • BSc, MB ChB, MA, MD, FRCP

I never take for granted the trust people place in me when they share something that matters to them. My role isn't to have the answers, but to create the conditions in which people can think more clearly, recognise their own strengths and move forward with greater confidence and purpose.
